This makes me think of the first boy in High School I really liked, probably because his girlfriend for a while, a friend of mine, was named Anna. That, however, is really the only connection here. Normally I'm the guy in this situation, sorta. The boys I like go off and like other girls and I have to give them up because I know that if I really liked them as much as I tell myself (and often times my friends) that I do then I have to let him go.
I know, another sad story of a girl that always likes the wrong boy, but you know what? I know one day it'll all make sense why I've been through these idiots and jerks and great guys.
"All of my life,/I've been searchin' for a girl/To love me like I love you./Oh, now.. But every girl I've ever had,/Breaks my heart and leave me sad./What am I, what am I supposed to do."--a line that sums up these feelings.
Anna is actually by Arthur Alexander but I didn't know that until I went to post these lyrics. Turns out John Lennon really just liked the song.
Anna (Go To Him) by the Beatles (or Arthur Alexander)
Anna,You come and ask me, girl,
To set you free, girl,
You say he loves you more than me,
So I will set you free,
Go with him.
Go with him.
Anna,
Girl, before you go now,
I want you to know, now,
That I still love you so,
But if he loves you mo',
Go with him.
All of my life,
I've been searchin' for a girl
To love me like I love you.
Oh, now.. But every girl I've ever had,
Breaks my heart and leave me sad.
What am I, what am I supposed to do.
Oh...
Anna,
Just one more thing, girl.
You give back your ring to me, and I will set you free,
Go with him.
Chorus
Anna,
Just one more thing, girl.
You give back your ring to me, and I will set you free,
Go with him.
you can go with him, girl
Go with him
Tomorrow's song: Chains
