Till There Was You

I like this song. I've never heard it before but it's sweet. Love changed this guys life. I want that. Yes, sappy Kelley. Whatever.

Tomorrow's: Please Mister Postman

Till there was you by the Beatles

There were bells on a hill
But I never heard them ringing
No I never heard them at all
Till there was you

There were birds in the sky
But I never saw them winging
No I never saw them at all
Till there was you

Then there was music and wonderful roses
They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows of dawn and dew

There was love all around
But I never heard it singing
No I never heard it at all
Till there was you

Then there was music and wonderful roses
They tell me in sweet fragrant meadows of dawn and dew

There was love all around
But I never heard it singing
No I never heard it at all
Till there was you

Till there was you

Little Child

Okay, last one of the back log.
Now I just heard this one and I like it. In my search of lyrics I found many people who claimed not to like this song. Many because of the lyrics. I personally find the lyrics okay. Simple yes, but good. Now some more had a problem with the term 'Little Child' even going with something as classy as a Micheal Jackson joke. Really world? 'Little Child' is a phrase that does not refere to an actual little child. It's more like the person is young or young looking.

Tomorrow (or today's actual song): Till There Was You

Little Child by The Beatles
Little child, little child
little child won't you dance with me
I'm so sad and lonely
Baby take a chance with me

Little child, little child
little child won't you dance with me
I'm so sad and lonely
Baby take a chance with me

If you want someone to make you feel so fine
Then we'll have some fun when you're mine
So come on, come on, come on

Little child, little child
little child won't you dance with me
I'm so sad and lonely
Baby take a chance with me, wow

When you're by my side you're the only one
Don't you run and hide just come on, come on
So come on, come on, come on

Little child, little child
little child won't you dance with me
I'm so sad and lonely
Baby take a chance with me oh yeah,
baby take a chance with me oh yeah,
Baby take a chance with me oh yeah

Don't Bother Me

December 22st

Okay, sorry. Let's try to fix that lapse shall we? Don't Bother Me is much catchy than I first thought reading the lyrics. I thought it would be this sad 'boo who, my girlfriend left 'cause I messed up' song and instead, well I mean it is but in a pretty cool way. The music is so upbeat--shocking, an up beat Beatles song? No.--that you can get so lost in the bouncy music that you forget it's a post-break up song.
Another one I don't think I've heard.

Tomorrow's song (or rather next): Little Child

Don't Bother Me by The Beatles
Since she's been gone I want no one to talk to me.
It's not the same but I'm to blame, it's plain to see.

So go away, leave me alone, don't bother me.

I can't believe that she would leave me on my own.
It's just not right when every night I'm all alone.

I've got no time for you right now, don't bother me.

I know I'll never be the same if I don't get her back again.
Because I know she'll always be the only girl for me.

But 'till she's here please don't come near, just stay away.
I'll let you know when she's come home. Until that day,

Don't come around, leave me alone, don't bother me.

Don't bother me.
Don't bother me.
Don't bother me.
Don't bother me.

All My Loving

I like this song, it's cute. It's sorta the same reason I like PS. I love you. I picture a story when I hear it, especially after watching Across the Universe which was where I first hear this song and knew that it was a Beatles song. I knew the words already though....
It's just cute and fluffy.

Tomorrow we get a song I've never heard of. Joy.
Tomorrow's song: Don't Bother Me

All my Loving by The Beatles
Close your eyes and I'll kiss you,
Tomorrow I'll miss you;
Remember I'll always be true.
And then while I'm away,
I'll write home ev'ry day,
And I'll send all my loving to you.

I'll pretend That I'm missing
the lips I am missing
And hope that my dreams will come true.
And then while I'm away,
I'll write home ev'ry day,
And I'll send all my loving to you.

All my loving I will send to you.
All my loving, darling I'll be true.

Close your eyes and I'll kiss you,
Tomorrow I'll miss you:
Remember I'll always be true.
And then while I'm away,
I'll write home ev'ry day,
And I'll send all my loving to you

All my loving I will send to you.
All my loving darling I'll be True.
All my loving All my loving ooh
All my loving I will send to you

All I've Got To Do

Suppose most people would think this song is cute, these two people like each other. Aw. I think it's okay. I mean, yes it's fluffy and I like singing it but it doesn't really do much for me. This isn't to say it's not a great song, it's just not my cup of metaphoric tea.
To each their own.

Tomorrow's song: All My Loving (YES!)

All I've Got To Do by The Beatles
Whenever I want you around, yeah.
All I gotta do,
Is call you on the phone,
And you'll come running home,
Yeah, that's all I gotta do.

And when I, I wanna kiss you, yeah.
All I gotta do,
Is whisper in your ear
The words you long to hear,
And I'll be kissin' you.

And the same goes for me,
Whenever you want me at all.
I'll be here, yes I will, whenever you call.
You just gotta call on me, yeah,
You just gotta call on me.

And when I, I wanna kiss you, yeah.
All I gotta do,
Is call you on the phone,
And you'll come running home,
Yeah, that's all I gotta do.

And the same goes for me,
Whenever you want me at all.
I'll be here, yes I will, whenever you call.
You just gotta call on me, yeah,
You just gotta call on me.

It Won't Be Long

I really enjoy this song, and as much as I love the original Beatles performance of it I really love the Across the Universe cover. It's sweet, but I'll admit it's also kinda sad. I mean there's this person that's in love with someone and that someone is gone. Yes that's sad, but what's worse is that they're so depressed by this person not being there that they just sit in their room or wherever waiting for them.
Yes, the Paul finds this odd.

Tomorrow's song: All I've Got To Do

It Won't Be Long by The Beatles
It won't be long yeah, yeah, yeah
It won't be long yeah, yeah, yeah
It won't be long yeah
'Til I belong to you.

Ev'ry night when ev'rybody has fun,
Here am I sitting all on my own,

It won't be long yeah, yeah, yeah
It won't be long yeah, yeah, yeah
It won't be long yeah
'Til I belong to you.

Since you left me I'm so alone,
Now you're coming, you're coming on home,
I'll be good like I know I should,
You're coming home, you're coming home.

Ev'ry night the tears come down from my eyes,
Ev'ry day I've done nothing but cry.

It won't be long yeah, yeah, yeah
It won't be long yeah, yeah, yeah
It won't be long yeah
'Til I belong to you.

Since you left me I'm so alone,
Now you're coming, you're coming on home,
I'll be good like I know I should,
You're coming home, you're coming home.

So, Ev'ry day we'll be happy, I know,
Now I know that you won't leave me no more.

It won't be long yeah, yeah, yeah
It won't be long yeah, yeah, yeah
It won't be long yeah
'Til I belong to you.

I'll Get You

This song reminds me of James Potter, I also think it's very appropriate after watching 17 Again. This is one of the songs that I'm less familiar--okay, not familiar--with at all. I think I'll have to come and edit this post later when I've had more time to get to know this song. Listen to it more before I really make an opinion that goes beyond the 'Guy loves this girl and wants her to know' idea that appears straight off.

Tomorrow's song: It Won't Be Long

I'll Get You by The Beatles
Woh yeh, oh yeh.
Imagine, I'm in love with you,
It's easy 'cos I know,
I've imagined, I'm in love with you,
Many, many, many times before.

It's not like me to pretend,
But I'll get you in the end,
Yes I will, I'll get you in the end, oh yeh, oh yeh.

I think about you night and day,
I need you and it's true.
When I think about you, I can say,
I'm never, never, never, never blue.

So I'm telling you, my friend,
That I'll get you, I'll get you in the end,
Yes I will, I'll get you in the end, oh yeh, oh yeh.

Well, there's gonna be a time,
When I'm gonna change your mind.
So you might as well resign yourself to me, oh yeh.

Imagine, I'm in love with you,
It's easy 'cos I know,
I've imagined, I'm in love with you,
Many, many, many times before.

It's not like me to pretend,
But I'll get you, I'll get you in the end,
Yes I will, I'll get you in the end,
Oh yeh, oh yeh.

She Loves You

This song reminds me of a friend caught between a couple in one of their spats. At least that's what I picture. This would be the part where I tell you about my friends and this experience but my friends rarely date and those that do don't let me get involved because I'll pick my friend over the date (unless of course the friend is in fact stupid) anytime.

Sorry about yesterday, I was feeling really bad. Only slept two hours.

Tomorrow's song: I'll Get You

She Loves You By The Beatles
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

You think you lost your love,
Well, I saw her yesterday.
It's you she's thinking of
And she told me what to say.

She says she loves you
And you know that can't be bad.
Yes, she loves you
And you know you should be glad.

She said you hurt her so
She almost lost her mind.
But now she said she knows
You're not the hurting kind.

She says she loves you
And you know that can't be bad.
Yes, she loves you
And you know you should be glad. Ooh!

She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
And with a love like that
You know you should be glad.

You know it's up to you,
I think it's only fair,
Pride can hurt you, too,
Apologize to her

Because she loves you
And you know that can't be bad.
Yes, she loves you
And you know you should be glad. Ooh!

She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah
She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah

with a love like that
You know you should
Be Glad!

with a love like that
You know you should
Be Glad!

With a love like that
You know you should
be glad!

Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah Ye-ah.

Thank You Girl

I can't think of anything. Sorry....

Tomorrow's song: She loves You

Thank You Girl by The Beatles
Oh, oh,
You've been good to me,
You made me glad
When I was blue,
And eternally I'll always be
In love with you,
And all I gotta do
Is thank you girl, thank you girl.

I could tell the world
A thing or two about our love,
I know little girl,
Only a fool would doubt our love,
And all I gotta do
Is thank you girl, thank you girl.

Thank you girl for loving me
The way that you do, (way that you do),
That's the kind of love
That is too good to be true,
And all I gotta do
Is thank you girl, thank you girl.

Oh, oh,
You've been good to me,
You made me glad
When I was blue,
And eternally I'll always be
In love with you,
And all I gotta do
Is thank you girl, thank you girl.
Oh, oh.

From Me To You

This song is good. I like it. Simple, right? Wrong. The words and message are, yes, but how easy is it for an artist to write a song that sticks in your head? Not only the words, mind you, but the music and their voices too.
There's this guy that loves this girl and he wants to make sure she's happy. That's the point. The genius here is that this is what, I think, everyone wants and it's written in a way that stays with you. Even now, long after the last time I listened to it I still have the notes playing in my head just from reading over the lyrics.

Tomorrow's song: Thank You Girl

From Me To You by the Beatles

If there's anything that you want,
If there's anything I can do,
Just call on me and I'll send it along
With love from me to you.

I've got everything that you want,
Like a heart that is oh, so true.
Just call on me and I'll send it along
With love from me to you.
I got arms that long to hold you
And keep you by my side.
I got lips that long to kiss you
And keep you satisfied, oooh.

If there's anything that you want,
If there's anything I can do,
Just call on me and I'll send it along
With love from me to you.
From me, to you.

To you, to you, to you.

Twist and Shout

Alright, now one more thing to do before bed my little readers. After a day of classes and an evening of celebration among friends, I come to you with one of my favorite covers. Twist and Shout. Not only do I really like the energy in this song, but I also love the things surrounding it.
My best friend once told me, where she got the information I don't know, that there is, like, only one recorded version of this song because it took so much out of John Lennon to perform it. That's how I tried to live today. None of my usual want to save energy or thinking about how much sleep I feel I need to catch up on or what's due tomorrow. I needed to live today (or rather by now, yesterday) to the best I could. I think I did a very good job of that, if I do say so myself.
A special thanks to a great friend, you know who you are, for putting together such a great celebration for another great friend.
And to that best friend, Happy belated birthday!

Tomorrow's (or today's really) song: From Me To You

Twist and Shout by the Beatles
Well, shake it up, baby, now, (shake it up, baby)
Twist and shout. (twist and shout)
Cmon cmon, cmon, cmon, baby, now, (come on baby)
Come on and work it on out. (work it on out)

Well, work it on out, honey. (work it on out)
You know you look so good. (look so good)
You know you got me goin, now, (got me goin)
Just like I knew you would. (like I knew you would, oooh!)

Well, shake it up, baby, now, (shake it up, baby)
Twist and shout. (twist and shout)
Cmon, cmon, cmon, cmon, baby, now, (come on baby)
Come on and work it all out. (work it all out, oooh!)

You know you’re a twisty little girl, (twist little girl)
You know you twist so fine. (twist so fine)
Come on and twist a little closer, now, (twist a little closer)
And let me know that you're mine. (let me know you’re mine oooh)

Ahhhhhhhhhh(root) Ahhhhhhhhhh(third) Ahhhhhhhhhh(fifth) Ahhhhhhhhhhh(seventh) Ahhhhh Ahhhhh Woah, Yeah

Well, shake it up, baby, now, (shake it up, baby)
Twist and shout. (twist and shout)
Cmon, cmon, cmon, cmon, baby, now, (come on baby)
Come on and work it on out. (work it on out, wuu!)

You know you’re a twisty little girl, (twist little girl)
You know you twist so fine. (twist so fine)
Come on and twist a little closer, now, (twist a little closer)
And let me know that you're mine. (let me know you’re mine, wuu!)

Well, shake it, shake it, shake it, baby, now. (shake it up baby)
Well, shake it, shake it, shake it, baby, now. (shake it up baby)
Well, shake it, shake it, shake it, baby, now. (shake it up baby)
Ahhhhhhhhhh(low) Ahhhhhhhhhh(higher) Ahhhhhhhhhh(higher) Ah!(high)

There's A Place

I think everyone needs a place like this. For me it's the playground behind my old Junior High School near my house. I can just go there and no matter what I can always forget what's been going in my life or what's been bothering me. Every time.

Go there. No matter where it is. Go there. Just be sure to come back. We could miss you.

Tomorrow's song: Twist and Shout (yes, I know it's a cover)

There is a Place by The Beatles
There is a place,
Where I can go,
When I feel low,
When I feel blue.
And it's my mind,
And there's no time when I'm alone.

I think of you,
And things you do,
Go 'round my head,
The things you said,
Like "I love only you."

In my mind there's no sorrow,
Don't you know that it's so.
There'll be no sad tomorrow,
Don't you know that it's so.

There is a place,
Where I can go,
When I feel low,
When I feel blue.
And it's my mind,
And there's no time when I'm alone.

There's a place...

A Taste of Honey

I had never heard this song before. Shock right? Truth is, I'd never even heard of this song before. It's sweet though (no pun intended). Not much to say on it as it's so new, here have a read, and also see what's up for tomorrow:

Tomorrow's song: There's A Place

A Taste of Honey by The Beatles
A taste of honey... tasting much sweeter than wine.

I dream of your first kiss, and then,
I feel upon my lips again,
A taste of honey... tasting much sweeter than wine.

I will return, yes I will return,
I'll come back for the honey and you.

Yours was the kiss that awoke my heart,
There lingers still, 'though we're far apart,
That taste of honey... tasting much sweeter than wine.

I will return, yes I will return,
I'll come back (he'll come back) for the honey (for the honey) and you.

Do You Want To Know A Secret

Sorry about not posting this yesterday. It was a snow day and also pretty hectic. A group a friends and I watched the new BBC Sherlock Holmes (watching episode 3 tonight) and then after a Walmart run the dorms had their individual dorm meetings.
Alright, now Do You Want To Know A Secret is a great song. It, like the others we've looked at, is a love song. It's pretty applicable to how I feel right now. The person I think I may like (and I say think because I've felt like this before toward him and then it was replaced by my feelings for Richard or Nick) We've been friends for a while, which recent experience has taught me to treasure, but if I do like him I wouldn't shout it from the top of the Admin building. I'd rather it be just between us and those closest to us. At least until we knew what it was, and until I was comfortable with it.

Tomorrow's song (or later today's): A Taste of Honey
Do You Want To Know A Secret by The Beatles
You'll never know how much I really love you.
You'll never know how much I really care.

Listen,
Do you want to know a secret?,
Do you promise not to tell?, whoa oh, oh.

Closer,
Let me whisper in your ear,
Say the words you long to hear,
I'm in love with you.

Listen,
Do you want to know a secret?,
Do you promise not to tell?, whoa oh, oh.

Closer,
Let me whisper in your ear,
Say the words you long to hear,
I'm in love with you.

I've known the secret for a week or two,
Nobody knows, just we two.

Listen,
Do you want to know a secret?,
Do you promise not to tell?, whoa oh, oh.

Closer,
Let me whisper in your ear,
Say the words you long to hear,
I'm in love with you.

Baby It's You

So, made it back to school with nothing too majorly wrong. Books sorta gotten. Snow day possible. If not first day of classes start up tomorrow and the name change Chapel will cut my first class short (always fun). Also, despite what certain people, Casye, think; I like being a 'Paul' and I also don't mind my romantic notions.

That being said, I feel it's good that I listen to Baby It's You. I don't know if I could actually push aside what my friends think of the person I'm with so easily. I mean, if they see something in him (or they see him doing something) that they, with how they know me, would lead to my later not liking or breaking up with this guy over they should tell me and save my hurt.

I know that this isn't always easy. In High School when I was so badly in like with Luke that I couldn't see what he and Anna had (despite his constant flirting with me), a friend of mine struggled with telling me and I un-rightfully got snippy with me for the choice she made in the matter. Looking back, now outside of the emotions of the situation I feel bad for getting so upset with her, even for just a moment.

I hope that those that are with me now know that if I like someone and don't see the faults in the person that I should or don't see anything else in them, not just the ones I currently fancy, I want those things pointed out to me.

Tomorrow's song: Do You Want To Know A Secret (an early favorite of mine)

Baby It's You by The Beatles
Sha la la la la la la la
Sha la la la la la la la
Sha la la la la la la la
Sha la la la la

It's not the way you smile that touched my heart. (sha la la la la)
It's not the way you kiss that tears me apart.

Uh, oh, many, many, many nights go by,
I sit alone at home and I cry over you.
What can I do.
Can't help myself, 'cause baby, it's you.
Baby, it's you.

You should hear what they say about you, "cheat," "cheat."
They say, they say you never never never ever been true. (cheat cheat)

Uh oh,
It doesn't matter what they say,
I know I'm gonna love you any old way.
What can I do, when it's true.
Don't want nobody, nobody, 'cause baby, it's you. (sha la la la la la la)
Baby, it's you. (sha la la la la la la)

Uh oh,
It doesn't matter what they say,
I know I'm gonna love you any old way.
What can I do, when it's true.
Don't want nobody, nobody, 'cause baby, it's you. (sha la la la la la la)
Baby, it's you. (sha la la la la la la)
Don't leave me all alone...
Come on home...

Ps. I love you

Well, last post before I go back to school. How do you like that? I'll have more to talk about than just my Boy Problems in life.
Ps I love you is a sweet song. I picture a man sitting in a room while the busy life of the city goes on outside. He's away for work and he misses his love. They're not engaged, but given the means and opportunity he'd propose in a second. He's not rich, but he's a good man. He means well and he tries for her and for himself. She wants him to do well with what he loves, even if that means he won't make much money or he won't be there for her. He wants to though. He wants to be with her and he will. Someday, but for now all he has are the letters sent back and forth between her and him.

I know the lyrics don't say any of these things, but I like to pretend it would play over a montage of some movie showing these two and their life together and apart.

Ps I Love You by The Beatles
As I write this letter,
Send my love to you,
Remember that I'll always,
Be in love with you.

Treasure these few words 'til we're together,
Keep all my love forever,
P.S., I love you.
You, you, you.

I'll be coming home again to you, love,
And 'til the day I do, love,
P.S., I love you.
You, you, you.

As I write this letter,
Send my love to you,
Remember that I'll always,
Be in love with you.

Treasure these few words 'til we're together,
Keep all my love forever,
P.S., I love you.
You, you, you.

As I write this letter, (Oh oh oh)
Send my love to you, (You know I want you to)
Remember that I'll always, (Yeah)
Be in love with you.

I'll be coming home again to you, love,
And 'til the day I do, love,
P.S., I love you.
You, you, you.
You, you, you.
I love you.

Ask Me Why

This is what love to me, a Paul--Choleric--feels like to a point. Yes, this isn't the feeling all the time, but it is the feeling that I want. Sometime. Eventually. It's complicated. Like love it's self.

Ask Me Why by The Beatles
I love you, 'cause you tell me things I want to know.
And it's true that it really only goes to show,
That I know,
That I, I, I, I should never, never, never be blue.

Now you're mine, my happiness still makes me cry.
And in time, you'll understand the reason why,
If I cry,
It's not because I'm sad, but you're the only love that I've ever had.

I can't believe it's happened to me
I can't conceive of any more misery.

Ask me why, I'll say I love you,
And I'm always thinking of you.

I love you, 'cause you tell me things I want to know.
And it's true that it really only goes to show,
That I know,
That I, I, I, I should never, never, never be blue.

Ask me why, I'll say I love you,
And I'm always thinking of you.

I can't believe it's happened to me.
I can't conceive of any more misery.

Ask me why, I'll say I love you,
And I'm always thinking of you.

Boys

I know this is another cover, but as I love Ringo so it's all good. The only problem is that this song doesn't really mean anything and I'm getting tired of reading about all of my boy troubles so I believe it's very fitting to make Boys the last song I plan to talk about boys in (for a while at least/as far as I plan). So...Here's the lyrics.

PS. More groups need to cover girl bands. Just saying.

Boys by The Beatles

I been told when a boy kiss a girl,
Take a trip around the world,
Hey, hey, (bop shuop, m'bop bop shuop)
Hey, hey, (bop shuop, m'bop bop shuop)
Hey, hey, (bop shuop) yeah, she say ya do. (Bop shuop)

My girl says when I kiss her lips,
Gets a thrill through her fingertips,
Hey, hey, (bop shuop, m'bop bop shuop)
Hey, hey, (bop shuop, m'bop bop shuop)
Hey, hey, (bop shuop) yeah, she say ya do. (Bop shuop)

Well, I talk about boys,
Don't ya know I MEAN boys,
Well, I talk about boys, now,
Aaahhh, boys,
Well, I talk about boys, now,
What a bundle of joy! (Alright, George!)

My girl says when I kiss her lips,
Gets a thrill through her fingertips,
Hey, hey, (bop shuop, m'bop bop shuop)
Hey, hey, (bop shuop, m'bop bop shuop)
Hey, hey, (bop shuop) yeah, she say ya do. (Bop shuop)

Well, I talk about boys,
Don't ya know I MEAN boys,
Well, I talk about boys, now,
Aaahhh, boys,
Well, I talk about boys, now,
What a bundle of joy!
